The attaché x is designed for versatile use, supporting handbag and backpack modes with no need for additional straps—simply reposition the existing ones.

Your attaché x arrives preconfigured in a handbag mode. In handbag mode, the straps are secured by eight metal studs, four on each side. On the front, the studs are hidden beneath the removable pouch; on the back, they are positioned between the arms of the X element.

Converting from handbag to backpack mode.

Check the strap between the two left arms of the X element on the back. You will notice a symbol I between the metal pins where the strap is fixed to the bag. This is your position indicator.

  • On the front, detach the strap from the four pins on the front of the bag.
  • On the back, by sliding a finger between the pins on the left hand side, bag wall and the strap, detach the strap from the pins.
  • Gently slide the strap underneath the X element to align the closest next two holes with the pins. If you have done things correctly, the holes that are now aligned with the pins have a symbol O between them.
  • When the holes are aligned, put one hand inside the bag and press against the bag wall in the area of the pins. With the other hand, press the strap firmly down against the pins until the pins pass through the holes and are secured in place.
  • Your handbag is now configured in the backpack mode.
  • Repeating this step in reverse will revert back to the handbag mode.

Attaching and detaching the straps may require firm pressure initially. Over time, the leather will soften and become easier to adjust with frequent use. To maintain the form of the leather, we recommend regularly switching between both carry modes to prevent the straps from reshaping toward a single mode.

The restricted opening is due to the ‘drawbridge loops’ fitted inside your attaché x. These are intended to control how far the case opens. To allow the case to open fully flat, you can detach these loops. Locate the central, silver-coloured connector securing the loops and unscrew it.

That openable ring provides an alternative way to carry the detachable pouch using the longest section of the main strap.

  • Your attaché x Strap: It has three sections. For this purpose, we’re focusing on the longest section, which has a hook on one end and a D-loop (a metal D-shaped loop) on the other.
  • Using the Ring: If you want to use only this longest strap section with the pouch (separately from the main attaché x case), you’ll notice it only has a hook on one end. The openable ring allows you to connect the D-loop end of this strap section securely to the pouch’s attachment point.

Important Note: While this setup is possible, we generally advise against using it frequently. This is because it requires you to detach and reattach this strap section from underneath the ‘X’ element on the back of the main attaché x case each time, which can be inconvenient.
