In our previous post, we explored the origin of our brand name, attaché x. Today, we’re excited to share the story of how our flagship product came to life – a product that perfectly embodies our commitment to style, functionality, and innovation.

The inspiration behind attaché x came from an unexpected source: not a seasoned fashion designer, but Alek, an automation consultant working at one of the Big 4 consultancies. Long before the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, Alek moved to London, where he found himself in need of a professional, stylish accessory to complement his client-facing role. His employer had provided him with a backpack – practical, yes, but not at all reflective of the well-dressed professional image he wanted to project. Carrying a utilitarian backpack with a tailored suit felt out of place, and, as Alek put it, gave off “high-school vibes.” It was clear something needed to change.

Determined to find a more fitting option, Alek embarked on a search through London’s top business accessory boutiques, from Canary Wharf to Mayfair. While he came across beautifully crafted leather bags, each seemed to require a compromise. Bags were either too focused on elegance, sacrificing function, or extremely practical but lacking in style. For Alek, this compromise wasn’t good enough – especially given the high price tags attached to many of these products. He knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when the idea hit: *Why not create a bag that strikes the perfect balance between form and function?*

From that moment, Alek dove into a world he never expected – leather crafting. He attended numerous leather-making courses, invested in leather sewing machines, and spent countless hours sketching, making and remaking elements of his vision, working with various types of leather, fabric, buttons, and fasteners. After six years and about 24 prototypes, the attaché x bag was born. Each prototype brought him closer to his vision: a leather laptop bag that was not only functional but also elegant and representative of the professional carrying it.

Interestingly, around the time of making his tenth prototype, the feedback from friends and colleagues was overwhelmingly positive. People saw the value in a bag that offered both style and practicality – and that’s when the idea crystallized: *This is something others might need, too.*

Today, attaché x stands as a testament to this dedication and ingenuity. It’s more than just a bag – it’s the product of innovation, craftsmanship, and a refusal to settle for less than the best. It’s the ideal accessory for the modern professional who demands both sophistication and functionality.
